Statistics: Russia’s deflation at 0.17% in week Jul 9–15
MOSCOW, Jul 20 (PRIME) -- Russia’s consumer price deflation amounted to 0.17% in the week from July 9 through July 15, and reached 11.41% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Wednesday.
The price for fruit and vegetable products fell by 3.4% on average. The prices for beets decreased 8.8%, for potatoes by 8.5%, for cabbage 8%, bananas 3.1%, tomatoes 2.3%, carrots 2.2%, apples 1.6%, cucumbers 1.2%. At the same time, the price of onions rose by 0.3%.
There was a decrease in prices for 22 products. The strongest fall in prices was again for eggs, losing 1.64%, sugar followed with a 0.66% decrease. In addition, the prices of buckwheat fell by 0.62%.
